F# LOW PYGMY 17
“Unveiling one of 2023's most popular handpans and my top recommendation for those in search of an instrument with over 10 notes. This model has garnered acclaim with performances by notable musicians like Jeremy Nattangh, Malte Marten, Warren Shanti, and more. With exceptional build quality, it produces a remarkably crisp and clear tone. While its sensitivity requires a gentle touch and some practice, the result is a nuanced and expressive sound.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Okay let me break it down, if you're just getting started, you might come across the D Kurd handpan—it's like the go-to for beginners. It's got 9 or sometimes 10 notes, making it the most popular pick. Plus, most lessons and stuff online use this one. It's cool because you can play it with other instruments and jam easily. So, for beginners, I'd recommend starting with a D Kurd.
But hey, don't just follow the crowd. Take a moment, put on your headphones, and really listen. Check it out on YouTube, see how different musicians play it. If it vibes with you, great! But don't be afraid to explore. If the D Kurd doesn't hit you in the feels, keep looking. Find one that speaks to your soul, makes you feel something. I usually go for the one that really gets me from the inside.

Yes it depends if the song matches the scale of your instrument. What is a scale ? Sign up for a lesson and i will tell you all about it.
-
If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, you have 14 days to return the handpan in its original condition for a full refund.
-
It usually takes 3 lessons to learn the Basics behind playing the handpan and you can actually start playing and improvising by yourself around the 3rd lesson. Usually on the fifth we get into learning songs, melodies and patterns to expand your play and explore your way through.
"It's just easy and feels natural" is what I often hear from my students and first-timers. While learning a new instrument can be a bit challenging at first, the handpan is surprisingly easier and quicker to pick up compared to instruments like the guitar, piano, violin, flute, and others. It's an amazing choice if you're starting your musical journey from scratch. It's all about taking that first step and exploring the limits of your mind.

Our handpans are sourced from various Asian regions and then meticulously tuned by expert European artisans. This ensures a superior quality compared to instruments found on online platforms like Alibaba, Amazon, and AliExpress. We strongly advise against purchasing handpans from these sites due to the high likelihood of receiving a product vastly different from what is advertised. Mass-produced handpans lack the careful craftsmanship evident in every instrument we offer.

Handpan: This instrument produces a warm, melodic, and rich sound, and is played with the fingers. It has a distinctive sound quality, different from that of a steel drum, which tends to be brighter and more percussive. Handpans evolved from the Hang®, an instrument created by Felix Rohner and Sabina Schärer of PANArt. When PANArt's patent expired, other manufacturers began making similar instruments, leading to the broader category known as handpans.
Hang®: Often mistakenly referred to as the Hang Drum, the Hang® is the original instrument made by PANArt, which inspired the handpan category. "Hang Drum" is a misnomer that combines "Hang" with "drum," though the instrument is specifically called Hang®.
Steel Drum: This instrument, typically played with mallets, is known for its bright and metallic sound. It differs from the handpan in both construction and playing technique, as the latter is played with the hands.
Tongue Drums (Tank Drum, Steel Tongue Drum): These drums feature cut-out tongues that produce sound when struck. They are more affordable alternatives to handpans and can be played with hands or mallets. While they may look similar to handpans, they offer different tonal qualities and playing options.
Hand Drum: This term generally refers to any drum played with the hands, such as bongos, congas, or djembes. It is distinct from the handpan and related instruments.
Spacedrum®: This is a specific brand of handpan, which offers its unique variation on the instrument's design and sound.
